Uses:
- It is believed to have medicinal value in curing digestive problems, diarrhea, fever, vomiting and can be used as astringent (skin care products) and expectorant.
- Leaf paste is used to soothe and heal wounds, ulcers, acne and swelling.
- The fresh bark juice is used in inflammation of the eye and for gargle.
- Extract of plant can be used to soothe gum ulcers, manage blood sugar levels and urinary tract issues.
- Fruit juice acts as blood purifier and stimulant and enhancer for lactation in traditional remedies.
- A postal stamp was issued by the Indian Postal Department to commemorate this tree.
